Buy Tickets to an Upcoming murder Mystery Party
We have learned through experience that our parties work best with a minimum of 35 people. We can do parties for up to 80 people, but most of our events are in the 40-60 guest range.
About half of our parties are private parties where they already have a group large enough for our events. We also got many requests from people who wanted us to sell single-ticket parties, but we have not had as much success with those events. We had to cancel about half of them because we didn’t sell the minimum 35 tickets before the scheduled event.
This was primarily due to the short time frames required by the venues. We needed more time to sell tickets because most people have never attended a party like ours and some people just did not understand the concept.
So we have come up with a new strategy for single ticket sales. We have created Facebook groups in several communities in the Tampa Bay area. If you are interested in purchasing single-ticket sales for one of our events in your community, please join one of these groups.
So for example, if you are in Gulfport, search Facebook for “Mystery Mixers Fans – Gulfport” and join the private group. We are not asking you to purchase tickets to join. We just want to know if there is enough interest in your area for us to do a party.
Once the group reaches 15 or 20 people, we will book the venue and decide on a theme and ticket prices. We believe this will enable us to sell half of the tickets for a minimum-size party from the Facebook group before tickets go on sale to the general public. The advantage to you in joining the group is that group members will get a sneak peek at the casting list and be able to select the best characters BEFORE we open up sales to the general public.
So please just join the group in your community, get your friends to join, and as soon as the group reaches the minimum size, we will schedule the party. And if you don’t see a group near you, let us know and we will start one for you.
And by the way, we can do our parties anywhere. You do not need to fly us to your location – contact us for more information on how we do remote parties.

The only thing we require is that everyone portrays a character – but you can select a very minor role or bit part. The level of your participation is up to you. If you want to stay in the background and watch the extroverts go at it, you can do that. The only time you will be required to be in front of the mystery party group is to simply introduce yourself in character. You will not be forced to be on stage or recite lines or do anything that will make you uncomfortable. We tell you the history of your character – how you choose to play that character at the party is totally up to you.
At our parties, the guests are no longer accountants, researchers or computer programmers – now they are pirates, gangsters or rock and roll stars. We have done our parties with a variety of types of groups and they have always “been into it.” Frequently, guests are astonished because somebody everybody thought was shy becomes the life of the party. (This is frequently because becoming the character gives somebody the freedom to be somebody that is nothing like their true self.)
There are no scripts to memorize. However, you will want to read your character summary in advance so you have plenty of time to think about it – particularly if you are a major character. You can take it to the party and refer to it anytime you want.
We don’t know how many people may get it right – 1 or 10 – so it is difficult to have prizes for the person who solves the crime. We also do not want to encourage the killer to tell his friends he is the guilty party in advance so his friends can win prizes.
Most people have the makings of a great costume in their closet. Some people want to rent a costume or “accessorize” at a costume or party store.
We have actors at each event who will take on those rolls should illness or an emergency prevent a major character from attending at the last minute.
We can accommodate up to 80 people.
We have found over time that the best parties start at about 35 guests. So if you sign up for an event and it doesn’t reach 35 guests at least a week before the event, it will be canceled and you will get a full refund within 5 days of the scheduled event date.
