Here is the difference between major, minor and bit parts.

Major characters

They are central to the plot as a suspect or integral part of the mystery. They don’t have any extra duties – it is just that their character must be filled to make the party work. They are just like the other characters but they may have discovered a clue, they are a suspect or they are just a character that everybody knows.

Minor characters

They typically support the major characters, but usually they are not a suspect or an integral part of the mystery. However, people come up with bizarre theories sometimes and remember anybody can be the villain.

Bit parts

They are for folks that are not comfortable being the center of attention. Nobody gets to “just watch” because no audience is allowed. These characters are easy for anybody to play.

Pirate

Welcome to Happy Island! Every year, King Wanna Wanna invites pirates to his island to hide from the summer storms, fix their ships, and barter their stolen goods with him – the king turns their loot into cash. Not far from Happy Island is the coastal community of Shady Cove which has merchants who also make money off of the returning pirates every year. So drop anchor at Happy Island, and let’s party!!!

Roaring 20s

About two weeks ago, Papa (God Rest His Soul) Kacciatore died of a heart attack. At his funeral, everyone decided that it would be a good idea to get together for a party in his honor, since he always loved a good party. But there is also business to be accomplished. Papa (God Rest His Soul) groomed his eldest son, Johnny, to take over after he died. But now that Papa is gone(God Rest His Soul), the next in line is not Johnny, but Papa’s brother Uncle Tony. He runs the Philadelphia mob. It will be up to Uncle Tony to decide if Johnny will run the Chicago operation. There are plenty of flappers, crooked politicians, bookies, stoolies and restaurant owners at this party. Please leave your heaters outside – violators will have their kneecaps broken.

SCIENCE FICTION

All the planets in the Galaxy Zodor are coming to Planet Neato to sign a peace treaty. The Planet Neato is known for Zoom Crystals, which power spaceships to speeds faster than anything else in the universe. However, mining of these crystals has been an environmental problem and there are many groups who want to stop the mining at all costs. Planet Bad is located very close to Planet Neato, and the two planets are frequently have been on the verge of war. The Planet Bad is full of bad people – known as the Baddies. Planet CanHead is known for…cans. Cans are everywhere on Planet CanHead, and are a sign of power and prestige. The CanHeads are a very advanced species, and rivals with Planet Geek. Planet Geek is known for its technical superiority, and is the home of some of the greatest gadgets in the universe. Several other planets are also sending representatives to the peace treaty. You have just arrived on Planet Neato.

Soap Opera

In the community of Soap, the biggest business in town is the Sudsy Soap Factory which is located on the Soapy River. For more than 100 years, the Soap family has been the most influential family in town. They all grew up very wealthy. Just down river and down wind from the Soap community is the town of Dirt, which is tired of dealing with all pollution caused by Soap. Since Dirt does not have its own hospital, the Dirt community also supports Soap General Hospital. Tonight is the annual fundraising dinner for Soap General Hospital. Everybody from both communities will be there…

ROCK N ROLL

Tina Terrific’s new CD, “Scream, Wiggle & Moan” has rocketed up the charts anchored by the megahit, “Baby, Baby Whoa Baby.” But as Tina’s stardom has taken off, she has taken a nosedive into all the temptations of being an overnight sensation in rock and roll. She has also become involved with Big Billy Bob Burnett and the wacko Billy Bob’s Flock, and just announced she is donating all the money from the upcoming tour to Billy Bob. The opening act for the tour is the band “Disgusting Habits.” Tonight is the backstage party to kick off the world tour.

Holiday Party

Next to the North Pole and Santa’s workshop there is a small community called Frigid. Everybody in Frigid lives there because they are totally committed to helping Santa in any way they can. There are merchants who provide food and supplies, and people like Harry the Heater Guy who fixes all the heat in the community and in Santa’s workshop. Every year on December 28 Santa throws a big end-of-the-season party for his staff and the Frigid community. He also invites all his friends, which include many imaginary characters like the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Father Time and Mother Nature. It is now December 28, and everybody is on their way to Santa’s workshop for the party. (This party does not involve a murder. Someone has stolen something important from Santa and we try to find the person who did it.)

Western
